Are you ready for the new SOLAS VGM requirement? We are!
The date of 1 July 2016 is fast approaching. We receive more details about the new requirement on a daily basis. Therefore, we would like to take the opportunity to highlight a few details.
Submitting and determining the VGM
We have come to agreements with carriers how to submit the VGM and adjusted our systems accordingly. We purchased a calibrated weighing scale which enables us to weigh your shipments upon your request. For FCL containers we can offer to weigh the container, after loading. You are allowed to determine the VGM yourself by weighing and/or applying the calculation method for your own shipments or containers. However, upon booking your shipment we will ask for a confirmation that the weight is correct and which method you applied.
Please note: according to the VGM regulation, you as a shipper are directly responsible for the details of the VGM.
